I still love my iPhone, laptop, Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. In many settings I still enjoy checking in or sending an interesting Tweet. But it is in my closest relationships that I am beginning to take half a step back, retreating just a little bit from the digital paraphernalia.
And I’m hearing the same sentiments from reporters and bloggers I know, who are paid to explore the frontiers of the Internet.
I suppose I’m a tech writer, too, after a fashion. I’m surprised these days by how (relatively) infrequently I actually Tweet or update Facebook, at least when held against my past habits. Either I’m tired, or just really busy.
